Four Seasons Hotel Florence

Animal Kingdom – Endangered animals have a new ally: the Four Seasons Hotel Firenze. From an idea of Edoardo Sandri (Bar Mixologist – in the picture), Gabriele Fedeli (Food and Beverage Outlets Manager) and Tommaso Ondeggia (Bar Manager), the icon of the Florentine hôtellerie has in fact dedicated his ‘Cocktail Book 2020’ to endangered species extinction.

With the elegance that distinguishes this important house in the heart of Florence, 15 of the endangered species have become as many refined cocktails. ‘ANIMAL KINGDOM‘, this is the name of the cocktail book, tells a very current theme, paying homage to the beauty of the global wildlife heritage that is so strongly at risk.

A triumph of experimentation and mixology in an eco-sensitive key that combines aromatic notes and textures, drawing inspiration from the magnificence of the animal world. All while fully adhering to the canons of perfection and aesthetics that characterize the Florentine luxury of Four Seasons Hotel Firenze.

I like to use original and unconventional ingredients to create innovative cocktails and surprise our guests .

Each cocktail is inspired by the shape, color and combination of ingredients to the animal to which it is dedicated. The ‘Polar Bear‘, for example, is reminiscent of ice thanks to vodka while the ‘Panda‘ is made from coconut yogurt, Sichuan pepper syrup, seedlip and pineapple foam. Fifteen refined and innovative cocktails, 12 alcoholic and 3 non-alcoholic, for as many splendid animals: Elephant, Gorilla, Lion, Polar Bear, Dolphin, Seal, Shark, Turtle, Toucan, Eagle, Parrot, Owl, Wolf, Tiger and Panda.

An incredible job that of the whole team of the ATRIUM BAR, made even more important by the paintings made by the Argentine artist Carolina Correa, specifically for the project, with the technique of oil colors applied with a palette knife.

The Four Seasons in Florence wanted to give a further important signal by putting Carolina’s paintings on sale and allocating the proceeds to a non-profit association that deals with the protection of marine environments.

Sophisticated, elegant and attentive to the environment. The new luxury is ready to creatively accept the challenge of an increasingly sensitive and less indifferent world.
